Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese relaxation technique that involves light, non-invasive touch that promotes self-healing. Just like a muscle gets a knot in it, sometimes our energy can get a knot(s) (blockage) in it. Reiki practitioners clear those blockages so the client's energy can flow freely and go where the body needs it the most. Reiki can complement traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals. It does not conflict with any religious beliefs.
Anyone can benefit from Reiki treatments, people, pets, plants etc. Here are just a few of the benefits: stress reduction, relaxation, promotes self-healing, pain relief, increases energy levels, clears the mind, aides better sleep and much, much more
Reiki can be done anywhere. The client, who is fully clothed, will sit in a comfortable chair, lie on a massage table or on the floor. The practitioner places their hands on or above specific areas of the body. Each hand position is held until the practitioner senses the energy has stopped flowing. A session can last from a couple of minutes to hours, depending on the client's needs. Some practitioners use crystals and essential oils during a session. Reiki is a massage for your energy, make sure to drink plenty of water after a session.
